Program Description

Powerlifting is a strength sport that focuses on three major lifts: the back squat, bench press, and deadlift. This training style builds full-body strength through some of the most challenging and effective lifts available. To continue making progress and increasing strength, proper technique and structured programming are essential.


At Power and Fitness, our experienced coaches will guide you through each lift, ensuring you use the right form and follow a progressive program that aligns with your goals. Whether you're looking to increase your total, improve technique, or develop explosive power, our powerlifting program will set you up for long-term success and strength development.

Squat

With the barbell on the back of the shoulders, descend the hip crease to below the knees and stand back up. Nothing compares to the squat when it comes to strengthening the entire body.

Bench

Lying on a bench, take the barbell down to the chest and back up to lockout. One of the most common barbell lifts seen in the gym, yet done incorrectly by many. This lift can either be great or horrible for the shoulders depending on how you execute it.

Deadlift

Pick up the barbell and stand upright with it. This lift is a bit more simple than the squat and bench press, which makes it a favorite by many. The deadlift is arguably the heaviest barbell lift, making it an incredible one for displaying whole-body strength.

Expert Coaching

Head Coach Brian Lahr is a World Champion Powerlifter. He has over 35 years of training experience with 25 years as a Coach. He has trained under multiple World Champions and has coached people of all ages and skill levels, ranging from beginners to elite athletes.
